Two boating enthusiasts have realised a lifelong dream by building their very own riverboat.

Tony Banks, a former technician at Sealine International boat builders and repairers in Kidderminster, and Paul Martin, his business partner and motor yacht owner, have established Banks Martin Boats and built Beaulieu 30, their first vessel.

Established in 2015 the business operates from a unit in Mamble, near Bewdley. Banks Martin Boats directly employs local skilled craftspeople and uses local sub-contractors and suppliers. All of their staff have spent most, if not all, of their working lives in the boating industry.

Tony and Paul set up the company to design and build boats from scratch. The name Beaulieu is French for 'a beautiful place', and Beaulieu 30 is the result of two and a half years' work.

The riverboat was recently on show at the London Boat Show. Each vessel is individually handcrafted using high quality production and finishing materials. Space, technology, luxury and comfort are the focus of the design and build. The Beaulieu 30 has a traditional design with modern styling and equipment.

Tony and Paul plan to develop the business by building a range of models in the future, which will ensure further growth and employment opportunities in Bewdley area. (visit website)
